We are pleased to announce that for the first time since 2014, the SIRWEC conference will be co-located with the PIARC world congress. Although historically, the two events have been run separately, for the first time in 2026, SIRWEC will be embedded within the PIARC program using dedicated foresight sessions.

WHERE? The 17th World Congress on Road Winter Service, Resilience and Decarbonisation will be held in Chambery, France between the 10th and 13th March 2026. Full details of the congress are available on https://www.piarc-chambery2026.com/.

SAVE THE DATE! All SIRWEC2026 sessions will be held on the same day – Wednesday 11th March giving delegates the opportunity to attend for the single day for SIRWEC2026, or to register to attend the broader congress. All registrations are through the above website (note the early bird until 7th January 2026).

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS. The call for abstracts is now open for the SIRWEC community to present at our sessions. All road weather related topics are in scope. Please send your abstracts (up to 300 words) along with contact details to SIRWEC2026@gmail.com (find the template here). Further details will be available in due course on the SIRWEC website (here).

Closing date for abstracts is the 28th November 2025.
